MuseumsQuartier Vienna

Art, creative and living space

Experience culture, enjoy art, leave your cares behind, meet interesting people, find inspiration – with a total area of 90,000m² and with 60 cultural institutions, MQ Vienna is not only one of the world’s largest spaces for contemporary art but an oasis in the middle of the city.

The MuseumsQuartier has no reservations. Historic architecture meets today’s design. High art meets subculture. There is everything here, from fine art, architecture and music to fashion, theatre, dance and literature, from kids’ and game culture and street art to design and photography. In addition to the nine large museums, exhibition and event spaces (Architekturzentrum Wien, DSCHUNGEL WIEN, Halle E+G, Kunsthalle Wien, Leopold Museum, mumok, Tanzquartier Wien, wienXtra-kinderinfo and ZOOM Children’s Museum) there are around 50 other smaller players: initiatives, festivals, artist groups and creative companies. They are located in the creative space Q21.

To bring the cultural variety on offer closer to its visitors, the MQ holds numerous events in its courtyards throughout the year, with free admission. At the same time, the MuseumsQuartier is the Viennese’ “living room”. The world famous MQ furniture is an important feature of the courtyard design, inviting you to relax and chat.

The MuseumsQuartier is a meeting point for conversation and/or cultural activities. The MQ is a living space, creative space and art space. The many people coming together here give rise to an open-minded, creative atmosphere. The MuseumsQuartier is a place that is constantly buzzing and where there are always new and surprising things to discover – there is something here for everyone. The MQ is a place to feel good in.
