Organ stand
a stone balcony
On the north wall of St. Stephen’s just before the transept, we find the organ stand growing out of a basket-shaped console consisting of overlapping pentagons. The church organ originally stood up here. 3 webbed, leaf-like lobes extend from the console, forming the base of the balcony. Anton Pilgram appears below in a self-portrait, seemingly bearing the weight on his shoulders.
