The hall of arms

The marks of former owners

Several former owners have left their mark in the hall of arms, which is only open to the public at events. It includes the coat of arms of Count Adam Herberstorff, who owns Ort Castle from 1625 to 1629 as Governor of Upper Austria. The Herberstorff family castle, in the historic Old Town of Bad Radkersburg in Southeast Styria, has a similar arcade courtyard in the Renaissance style.

Other, less famous former owners have left their mark too: another coat of arms there belongs to the Geymanns, a leading knightly family from Upper Austria in the 14th through to the 16th centuries. Others belong to the noble von Polheim and von Wallsee families.
