The Jurassic
The rise of the dinosaurs
During the Jurassic period, 206 to 180 million years ago, a warm, humid climate prevailed on Earth, giving rise to an enormous flora and fauna. Coniferous and fern forests spread across the slowly drifting continents.
And massive changes were also taking place in the animal world. The age of the reptiles was in full swing, whether on land, in the sea, or in the air. On land, gigantic dinosaurs such as Diplodocus or Allosaurus ruled. In the sea, reptiles such as Ichtyosaurus or Plesiosaurus ruled and pterosaurs conquered the skies. The family of dinosaurs and reptiles was striving towards the peak of its dominance.
