Gorgonops

The lion of the Permian period

Gorgonops was one of the most dangerous hunters in the Permian Age and perfectly adapted to life in the desert. His stocky, muscular body was supported by long legs. He was superior in speed to most reptiles of his time.

He also possessed a powerful set of teeth, which not only had short, sharp teeth, but also two large fangs. This makes it clear that Gorgonops was already a link between reptile and mammal. A dentition with different teeth is a decisive feature of mammals.
