Having fulfilled his side of the bargain, Judas is filled with regret and after returning the 30 pieces of silver he hangs himself from a tree.

To the right of this we see Jesus being flogged. After his arrest Jesus is brought before the Roman governor Pontius Pilate for sentencing. Pilate does not deem Christ’s actions as warranting the death penalty and sentences him solely to flagellation.
