The candelabra and Verona
The limbs of the candelabra mirror the decoration on the Romanesque bronze doors of the Basilica di San Zeno, one of the most important churches in Verona from the 12th and 13th centuries. There is controversy over the dating of the bronze panels on the door. What is clear is that they were created for another purpose prior to the construction of the church.
