Marie Jahoda memorial

In 2016 the memorial by Catrin Bolt was unveiled in the arcade courtyard of Vienna University: a photographic portrait of Marie Jahoda recreated in bold contrasts in the patina on the inner side of a column.

The memorial was created as part of the 650th anniversary of the University in 2015, with a focus on gender awareness. Although women had been admitted to Vienna University since 1897, only one had been honoured with a memorial in the arcade courtyard.  Memorials to seven female scientists, including Marie Jahoda, were added between 2015 and 2016.
