The Seipel-Dollfuß memorial church

The Christkönigskirche is also known as the Seipel-Dollfuß Church, named after Prelate Ignaz Seipel (1876-1932) and Federal Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuß (1892-1934). Built from plans by architect Clemens Holzmeister, the church was consecrated on September 29, 1934. There were memorial rooms to both men within the church and their bodies were laid to rest in sarcophagi in the crypt. Under National Socialism the rooms were closed and the remains buried at different cemeteries.
