29 - Shipmaster's house
zoom in zoom out

Marks on the face of the house indicate the highest flooding levels. Over 30 disasters have been recorded since 1210. In August 1501 the water rose to about eleven metres above the level of the Danube landing. Even the parish church was flooded, with boats sent to rescue the images on the altar. A hostel for travelling young journeymen was located here in the 19th and 20th centuries.
