Early industrialist and entrepreneur Josef Weber Edler von Fürnberg (1742 - 1799) had the imposing postal station erected in 1792. The face is decorated with stucco reliefs depicting the messenger of the gods Mercury as well as postmasters, including Fürnberg himself. The symbols beneath stand for agriculture, the military and the postal system.
