5th Dept. Psychiatric Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

We treat mental disorders, behavioral problems and conditions of suffering in children and adolescents from 0 to 18 years. As a rule, children from kindergarten age are introduced. The age limit is currently the age of 18 years. A medical assignment is required.

The department has 30 full-time and 6 semi-stationary therapy places.

Our multi-professional team consists of medical specialists, graduate health and nursing staff, clinical social pedagogues, clinical and health psychologists, academic clinical educators, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, music therapists and a painting and design therapist. Furthermore, the children and adolescents have the opportunity for diatological care, curative vaulting, animal-assisted therapy with the animals of the petting zoo and sports and occupational therapy. The department has a social worker available.

The diagnoses are made person-oriented in the multi-professional team under specialist supervision according to the multi-dimensional basic concept of Spiel & Spiel.
The multimodal therapy plans are implemented for each patient in the multiprofessional team.

Psychotherapeutic methods include the existential analysis according to Viktor Frankl, psychodynamic approaches, systemic family therapy and behavioral therapy.

The involvement of families and all helpers in the therapeutic process is an indispensable part of our recovery.
