Borjomi Mineral Water Export Building
The former Borjomi Mineral Water Export Building, which was erected in 1896, is right at the main entrance to the park. Here Borjomi mineral water was pumped and bottled, at its peak in up to about 1200 bottles a day. In another building, the bottles were packed into boxes and then exported all over the world.
The building was used as a factory until 1954, then a new mineral water bottling plant was built in Charkhistskali, another part of the city of Borjomi only a kilometer away. Since then, the original factory has served as a center for entertainment and recreation, housing a stage, an auditorium and seating areas. Although the original mineral water export building has been the granted the status of a cultural heritage monument, a lot of renovation work has to be done.
According to the Georgian National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation, the former factory building is part of the "Borjomi - Museum City" project and will be restored as an industrial museum in the near future.
