Restaurant Meskhetian Cuisine
Zeda Vardzia, the so-called "upper Vardzia", is a Georgian Orthodox church and monastery about 3 km northwest of the famus Vardzia Cave Monastery Aspindza Municipality of Samtskhe-Javakheti. Zada Vardzia monastery is currently home to around 20 members, who also run a restaurant inside the convent area: Restaurant Meskhetian Cuisine. The members of the convent themselves prepare traditional Meskhetian dishes and specialities. As there is no regular menu and the preparation of traditional Meskhetian dishes is only done on request, reservation on advance is absolutely necessary.
