Useful plants group

Medicinal plants were among the first plants to be cultivated in the Botanical Garden. The medicinal and useful plants group has been in its current location since 1883. Below the entrance at the Jacquintor gate is a small area with various crops such as legumes, various cereal crops, pumpkin, etc. along with their typical wild herbs.

Above the Jacquintor entrance, the plants are grouped according to their use. Here you can see cereals and pseudocereals, dye and oil plants, poisonous and medicinal plants and edible plants.

In the top third of the group, we grow vegetable plants with an annually changing focus. Following the renovation of the retaining wall along Jacquingasse, this area is still under development.
